Community Life in Baldwin Park
Baldwin Park sits on the former Naval Training Center Orlando, which closed in the late 1990s and became one of Orlando’s best-known walkable neighborhoods. The Orange County Regional History Center tells the full story.
Today, community life centers on New Broad Street. The Village Center hosts the Baldwin Park Community Market, and Mayor Glenda Hood Park (formerly Harbor Park) hosts First Friday on the first Friday evening of each month. These are great moments for a brand activation or a pop-up coffee cart.
The Baldwin Park Residential Owners Association and local apartment communities, like MAA Baldwin Park, host resident events throughout the year. Our resident events program is built for exactly that. Property and HOA teams can start with a free tasting.
Baldwin Park Venues to Consider
Baldwin Park’s parks belong to two different cities, so booking rules differ. Always confirm vendor rules before booking.
Blue Jacket Park (City of Orlando)
A 75-acre park on the former Navy parade grounds, with a pavilion for about 50 guests, grills, and restrooms. Book through the City of Orlando.
Lake Baldwin Park (City of Winter Park)
A lakeside park with two reservable pavilions, a dog park, and a dock. Pavilions are booked through Winter Park Parks and Recreation at least 7 days ahead.
Mayor Glenda Hood Park and the Village Center
The heart of Baldwin Park’s community events, steps from shops and restaurants on New Broad Street.
Clubhouses and Amenity Centers
HOA and apartment clubhouses make great covered spots for resident events. Coordinate with your community manager.
Permits, Venue Rules, and Weather in Baldwin Park
Events at Blue Jacket Park follow City of Orlando rules, including a Special Events Permit for events with a vendor (City of Orlando guide). Lake Baldwin Park follows City of Winter Park rules, which ban single-use items like plastic straws and Styrofoam on city property. HOA and apartment spaces follow community rules.
Summer afternoons bring frequent storms, with lightning risk highest from 2 to 8 PM. For lakeside summer events, we recommend evening service and a covered backup like a pavilion or clubhouse.
